Home Learning Computing

Week 15 - w/c 29.6.20 (Monday)

Join in with Mummy Penguin’s song and follow the adventures of Smartie the Penguin (an online safety story for 3 to 7 year olds) as he learns how to be safe on the internet.

This week we'd like you to read and discuss the adventures of Smartie the Penguin with your child. You could also make up some actions to go with Mummy Penguin's song and perform it to your family.

Week 16 - w/c 6.7.20 (Monday)

This week we'd like you to start your computing lesson by re-capping last week's story. Can your child remember Mummy Penguin's song? Sing it together again and if you made up some actions to go with it try and include them too. Discuss the advice from the story and song.

Can your child write some advice for Smartie in the speech bubble? (See worksheet titled 'Week 16' below)

You could also colour in this worksheet and stick it up on the wall near your device.

Extra challenge - Can you write a new verse to accompany Mummy Penguin's chorus, to help Smartie be safe on the internet?

Week 17 - w/c 13.7.20 (Monday)

This week we'd like you to use your knowledge about Internet Safety to think about which behaviours are safe and which are unsafe. Can you sort them correctly?

Log onto ‘Purple Mash’, click ‘2Dos’ and complete the ‘Internet Safety’ activity.

Parents and Carers, please read and discuss each behaviour with your child before asking them to sort them - thank you.
